GDL Racing has unveiled two rookie drivers for its next commitment in the Carrera Cup Italia. After announcing Macedonian Risto Vukov, who will race a 911 GT3 Cup car, the team led by Gianluca De Lorenzi revealed an new pair.
Max Donzelli and Max Montagnese will team up in the Silver class. The first one is a Milan-based driver who is set to make his maiden debut in racing cars. Same is for Montagnese, gentleman driver from Calabria, who has only one year experience in Time Attack.
“I am a real debutant. This year I aim to improve step by step to achieve some good results”, Donzelli said. “Except Imola, Mugello and Monza, I have to learn all the remaining tracks.”
“I enter the Carrera Cup Italia Championship on tiptoes”, Montagnese added. “My goal this year is to make experience.”
“Two years ago Bashar Mardini, who only had a road car experience, made his debut with GDL Racing to clinch the Michelin Cup title. We’ll try to do well also with two newcomers like Donzelli and Montagnese”, De Lorenzi commented.
The Carrera Cup Italia 2020 season will start at Mugello on 18/19 July.
